One & Done Eyeshadows

I refer to ‘one and done’ eyeshadows regularly in my videos and use them even more often in my makeup routine. They’re a single-step solution for a wash of colour when you want an eye look that suggests you put some effort in, but only had about ten seconds to spare.

This might mean picking your favourite powder colour from a palette and blending it all over your eyelids, but the spirit of ‘one and done’ shadows is also about ease – quick sticks or creams you can swipe on and smudge with your fingertips for a laidback look.

You can catch up on previous videos featuring my favourite all-over shadows, some more playful, sparkly, colourful options, and more detailed reviews and swatches of a few specific formulas.

Which simple shadows do you reach for regularly?

Favourite One & Done Shadows

Sharing some of my most worn stick, liquid, powder and cream formulas in the ‘one and done’ shadow world, ranging from reliable drugstore crayons like *NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils, to my all-time favourite eyeshadow, *Tom Ford Golden Peach.

Fun One & Done Shadows

The second instalment in my One & Done Shadow mini-series focused on more metallic, colourful, playful picks. You can have plenty of fun with bursts of glitter like *Charlotte Tilbury Jewel Pots and summer brights like *Danessa Myricks ColorFix Mattes.

Rare Beauty Liquid Eyeshadow

Rare Beauty’s Stay Vulnerable collection includes one of the best *Liquid Shadows I’ve tried. This user-friendly formula applies evenly, blends easily and comes in a romantic range of five neutrals for a soft wash of colour or an opaque pop.

Violette_FR Yeux Paint

French makeup artist Violette launched her brand in March 2021 after years of sharing eyeshadow inspiration on YouTube. Her intense Yeux Paint liquid shadows are not for the faint of heart, so I shared my application tips.

EM Cosmetics Cosmic Pearl

EM Cosmetics has been one of my favourite brands in recent years, and their *Cosmic Pearl Dewy Eyeshadow launch from September 2021 is right in the champagne, rose gold, coppery, rose range I love. See all seven shades swatched here.

Kosas 10-Second Liquid Eyeshadow

Liquid shadows often vary in consistency but this *Kosas creation has a particularly watery, thin texture. Designed to be worn as a wash of colour, they’re surprisingly pigmented for something so lightweight, and the swatches always satisfy.
